We seldom realize fully that we are sent to fulfill God-given tasks. We act as if we have to choose how, where and with whom to live. We act as if we were simply dropped down in creation and have to decide how to entertain ourselves until we die. But we were sent into the world by God, just as Jesus was. Once we start living our lives with that conviction, we will soon have what we were sent to do.

Scripture:
but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.
and he will reward them for what they have done.
do not be a willing party to their death.
rescue them, and you will have to do it again.
and at the end you will be counted among the wise.
21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.Proverbs 19:16-21
PRAYER
All-wise God, our Father, I have spent a significant amount of my time on this planet finding my earthly vocation-an effort filled with day planners, multitasking, career striving, and celebrations of human accomplishments This search is really one of the huffing and puffing of a pride- filled competitor. Let me instead find my true vocation-one that is grounded in you. Remind me frequently that human plans are hollow, but the purposes of the Lord are paramount. Amen.
LENTEN ACTION
